Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register with WTPFL?
You can register or update your party affiliation through Florida's official voter registration system at registertovoteflorida.gov. Select "We The People Florida" as your party affiliation. See our Join Us page for detailed instructions.
Is WTPFL recognized by the State of Florida?
Yes. We The People Florida is a registered minor political party under Florida Statute 103.095. We are listed on the Florida Division of Elections' political party registry.
Can I vote in primary elections as a WTPFL member?
Florida is a closed primary state, meaning you can only vote in the primary of the party you're registered with. As a WTPFL member, you can vote in WTPFL primaries (when we have competing candidates) but not in Republican or Democratic primaries. You can always vote in general elections regardless of party affiliation.
How can I run for office as a WTPFL candidate?
We encourage citizens to consider running for local office. Start by getting involved and selecting "Running for Office" in the involvement form. We'll connect you with resources on qualifying, campaigning, and meeting Florida election requirements.
How is WTPFL funded?
WTPFL is funded entirely by individual contributions from Florida citizens. We follow all Florida campaign finance laws and report all contributions and expenditures to the Division of Elections. Our campaign finance reports are public record.
Where can I see upcoming meetings?
All WTPFL meetings are posted on our Stay Informed page in compliance with Florida Statute 103.095. We publish meeting notices on our public calendar and welcome all registered party members to attend.
